Hello everyone! What a busy few weeks it has been! Because of a couple unexpected snow days, we've been working really hard to squeeze in all of our fun, exciting, and educational President activities and Dr. Seuss activities. Last week we learned about George Washington, Abe Lincoln, and our current President. We even wrote a letter to President Obama and are anxiously awaiting to see if he writes us back!
This week, we had a lot of fun with different Dr. Seuss activities! We read over a dozen Dr. Seuss books and today we chose our favorite and wrote about why we liked it. We also got to experience real-live OOBLECK just like Dr. Seuss wrote about in Bartholomew and the OOBLECK. We really worked on rhyming words and word families this week too since Dr. Seuss books are filled with such great rhymes! Next week our school will be celebrating Read Across America in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. Each day will be a different special event: Monday- dress your best, it's PICTURE DAY, Tuesday- wear green, Wednesday- dress up like your favorite storybook character, Thursday- crazy sock day, and Friday- crazy hair day. Friday, our class only will be having a PAJAMA DAY as well because we filled up our 2nd Tiger Token chart!!! WOOHOO!!! Next week we will be learning about our 5 Senses. Because the semester is coming to a close, I will have to postpone guided reading groups for the week in order to assess the students. I will still send home a book for your child so PLEASE continue to read with them at home! Thank you so much for you support! Have a great weekend! Comments are closed.
