Today the students brought in an unwanted item or piece of "trash" from home. It took some careful planning and creativity, but the students were able to use those items in some special ways. Watch the video below to see how the kiddos reused or recycled their items! Thank you so much to all of the families who donated jelly beans to make our week of Easter themed learning possible! We had so much fun decorating and describing eggs, making Easter baskets, and even trying to persuade others why we would make a great Easter Bunny.
Next week, we will be learning about Earth Day and recycling. We will be reviewing different types of writing and will be practicing Earth Day themed narrative, informative, and persuasive writing. In Math, we are going to be wrapping up our unit on measuring length and weight. If your child sold enough items during the fundraiser to earn the snow cone party, they will attend that on Tuesday, April 22. Have a great weekend and a Happy Easter! As we finished up our 2 week unit on Occupations we are looking very forward to the unit ahead: Spring and Eggs! The Easter holiday is right around the corner and we are going to be channeling our excitement into fun and educational activities! Next week, the students will be writing persuasive letters to the Easter Bunny and using descriptive words in their writing to describe Easter Eggs. We are looking very forward to Jelly Bean Math as well! The kids are going to enjoy addition, graphing, measuring, and more all with Jelly Beans. If you would like to contribute a bag of jelly beans for this unit, we would all be very grateful!
If you haven't already, make sure to take a look at the video below that sums up our unit on Occupations! Have a great weekend! Thank you so much to all of the parents who were willing to come in and share their career with our students. The kiddos had a GREAT week! |
