Next week our theme will be the alphabet. We have been learning about one letter a day, but next week we are going to incorporate Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Dr. Seuss ABC's into our learning. In Writing we will be working on stretching out words, using tools like our alphabet chart, and writing hard to write ideas. In Math, we will continue to look at attributes of objects and will be sorting items by their attributes. We will also be working on one-to-one correspondence with the counting jar. In Daily 5, we will introduce Work on Writing and continue to build our reading stamina.
Donations needed: Try to think back to a time before iPods and iPhones. Do you remember those super cool portable CD players? Not a boombox, but the individual CD players that only one person could use with a set of headphones. Mine was pink and I was pretty cool. :) Well apparently those are considered antiques now because they are too expensive for me to purchase for our classroom. I am seeking two or three that are gently used and just tucked away in a junk drawer for our listening station during Daily 5. I do NOT expect anyone to purchase one new. Like I said, they are rather over priced. However, if you have one that is simply gathering dust, we would love to put it to good use in our classroom.
