Yoga Day was a blast! Before I sign off for the year, I wanted to share one last set of pictures with you!
Thank you all so much for all you have done to help your child be successful and have FUN this year!
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL summer!!!
I cannot believe the last day of school is already here! It has been a GREAT year! I am going to miss this group of kids so very much! I love their energy, their kind hearts, and their work ethic. They are going to wonderful things in the future! Yoga Day was a blast! Before I sign off for the year, I wanted to share one last set of pictures with you! Thank you all so much for all you have done to help your child be successful and have FUN this year! I hope you all have a WONDERFUL summer!!! Phew! It's been a whirl-wind of a week, but we are working hard until the very end! Our Step Up to First Grade Math has been no joke. We're adding 3 numbers, finding the missing addens, and counting to 100 by 5's. We've also been working hard on our frog life cycle book. We had a blast making solar ovens with our reading buddies and using them to make s'mores! Next week we will be doing some end of the year writing. We will continue our Step Up Math as long as possible as well! Tuesday the 22nd will be our eXtra Special Awards Ceremony. It will start at 10:30 and end at our lunch time at 11. The kids have made awards for each other that they will present. We have also made a short video and I have awards to pass out as well. Come and join us if you can! On Wednesday, Yoga Day, we have a certified Yoga Instructor coming in to do 30 minutes of Yoga with the kids. This is always a TON of fun! On Thursday, our last day of school and Z day, I have scheduled the Zoo to come in a teach a class called Fur, Feathers, and Scales in the morning. Then before lunch, we are having a Summer Jam Party with Mrs. Hambey and the other Kindergarten and First Grade classes. Then for lunch on the last day, Aiden's Papa has graciously offered to bring in PIZZA from Pizza Hut for one last big HOORAH! So, on the last day, you will not have to pack your student a lunch unless he or she does not like pizza. :) We will also be dismissing at 12:30 on this day. We have a big, busy, FUN week ahead! I have enjoyed these kiddos so much and am looking forward to our last week as a Kindergarten class! Have a great weekend! We had a BLAST today at Field Day! I tried to snap a few pictures to share with you all. This week we worked hard on projects for our wonderful Mothers! I hope everything makes it home in one piece ;) Next week we will still be learning about Frogs and their life cycle. We will be reviewing the different types of writing we've learned throughout the year and tie those in with our frog theme. In Math we will continue to practice 1st grade skills in our Step Up to First Grade Lessons. We are almost to the end of the year! Tuesday, May 22nd will be our eXtra Special Award Ceremony in our classroom. We will begin at 10:30 and it will probably last until we go to lunch at 11. Join us if you can! I think that's all for now! Have a wonderful weekend! I cannot believe how this week has flown by! We've been observing our caterpillars, which are now almost all in their chrysalises, and writing about what all we have learned about butterflies over the last two weeks! We've made ice cream sundaes (and wrote a how-to), put together jigsaw puzzles, lots of Koo Koo Kangaroos, and eaten far too many lollipops! Next week we will be working on some projects for Mother's Day and Mother's Day writing for all of you wonderful mommas out there! We also also begin our two week unit on Frogs. We will continue with our Step Up to first grade lessons in Math. I will be sending some of the worksheets home so you as parents can see what to expect next year. Again, this homework is optional. Friday, May 11th is FIELD DAY! The location has been changed due to the construction on the football field so we will now be having Field Day at the soccer field. We will ride a bus over there to eat lunch around 11:30. I will be sending home 2 notes today; one is to let me know if your child will be bringing a sack lunch from home or if they will need a school sack lunch and the other is for the Kona Ice truck that will be there on Field Day. If you will be purchasing Kona Ice for your child please send in money before Field Day. I will keep a list of who has paid and this will make things go smoother on Field Day. If you send a sack lunch from home, please make sure everything can be thrown away. We will be playing games after we eat and unable to carry around lunch boxes. Parents are welcome to join us there! Upcoming Dates May 11th- Field Day May 22nd- eXtra Special Awards May 24th- Last Day of School, Half Day I think that's all for now! Have a wonderful weekend! |
