Next week is another one of my favorite units, Dr.Seuss. In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2nd, we celebrate Read Across America Week.! We have lots of fun activities planned. Monday is National Read Aloud Day so I'm asking that each student bring in their favorite picture book for us to read together in class. My goal is to read EVERYBODYS book that day. It's a lofty goal, but I think we can do it! Tuesday Mrs. Mann has set up a visit from a local author to share his book. Wednesday is wacky hair. Thursday the whole school will be dressing up like their favorite storybook characters. Finally Friday will be hat day! In math we will relating our lessons to Dr. Seuss books such as "The Foot Book" (measuring) and "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" (sorting and graphing.)
If you ordered books from the book order in February, I have a confession to make. I entered all orders and then forgot to click submit. I am SO sorry! When I went to check on our order yesterday (because it was taking forever to arrive!) I realized my mistake and submitted the order yesterday. I am really hoping the books make it next week before Spring Break. Again, I apologize!
Remember Friday will be a half day and then the following week is Spring Break! I can't believe it's that time already. Doesn't it seem like we just came back from Christmas Break? Time flies when you're having fun!
Have a great weekend!!
