This week we had fun learning about St. Patrick's Day and our five senses! We also learned a lot by starting our persuasive will writing! I've already had several kids trying to persuade me to get a dog as a class pet. I have to say they are pretty convincing. We also did some fun experiments using our five senses such as trying to guess what things are by smelling them and feeling things using our hands and feet.
Next week we will begin our butterfly unit! We already have caterpillars in our classroom that we are watching as they go through their lifecycle and turn into butterflies! It is quite exciting! The kids are journaling along the way so they can record each lifecycle phase. In Math, we will be starting our unit on measuring, and in writing we will continue to work on persuasive writing and writing persuasive letters.
Monday, March 24 will be our second McTeacher Night! McTeacher night is from 4 to 7, but I will be there between five and six. I hope to see you all there! On Wednesday, March 26 will be our Auper Tiger Assembly.
In two weeks, we will start our occupation unit. If you would like to come in and share your job with our class please return the form I sent home on Friday as soon as possible so I can schedule a time for you to come in! This is a fun unit that teaches the kids a lot about jobs in our community!
Have a great weekend!
